Habib University is a private university located in Karachi, Pakistan. It was established in 2014 by the Habib University Foundation supported by the House of Habib and offers interdisciplinary education in science, engineering, arts, humanities and social sciences. Construction on the campus in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Karachi began in 2012, after the charter for establishment of HU was passed by Sindh Assembly in June of that year. The Habib University (HU) city campus covers an Area of 6.79 Acres (295,800 sq ft.). The University has a joint venture contract with Texas A&M University at Qatar and is collaborating with Carnegie Mellon University, USA for reciprocal sharing of institutional experience and has signed partnership agreement for this association.
